A practical ritual map for death and bereavement
Death is a process of profound transformation.
The dying person transitions from the village of the living to the village of the ancestors. And to life without a body.
The bereaved transition to a new way of life here, in the village of the living, where their loved one is no longer physically present.
These transitions are huge, and in order to find healing and resolution, our souls need support to integrate them.
Rituals are soul-medicine for times of transformation.
When big life changes happen, rituals help our souls catch up. They help us adjust and reorient so we can live in the new world we find ourselves in.
Effective rituals help everyone in the system find their new place after a death.
Rituals help people make the transition from what was, to what is.
To support the dying and the bereaved, you need to understand the fullness of that transformational journey, on this side of the veil or the other.
Cultural and spiritual traditions around the world understand this process, and have teachings and ritual practices to help us navigate it.
In dominant, secular, Western culture, however, we've lost this knowledge. And so dying has become harder than it needs to be.
Ritual healing is available for the living, the dying, and the dead.
An understanding of soul-dynamics at the end-of-life makes deep healing more possible, for everyone involved.
If you don't have a clear map of what's happening, it's hard to find a healing path through the experience.
Are you called to support dying people and their families?
Are you facing a death in your own life?
This class provides a comprehensive map of the spiritual and energetic dynamics of death and dying, as they impact everyone involved in the process.
Understanding these subtle aspects of the soul's journey allows you to see the otherwise hidden dimensions of the process.
When you know what's happening, you can cooperate with it to help facilitate healing.

Instructor: Sarah Kerr, PhD
I’ve been a ritual healing practitioner, death doula, and trainer since 2012. I have a doctorate in Transformative Learning and I've been a student of spiritual and systemic healing practices since 1999.
I help dying people and their families connect with each other and with the innate wisdom of the dying process.
My clients and students understand that death and loss are important parts of their spiritual journey, but they don't have a spiritual map to guide them through these experiences. I bring a map rooted in energy medicine, systems thinking, sacred sciences and ancient wisdom traditions.
I train death doulas and other end-of-life professionals in a comprehensive healing methodology that aligns with deep patterns in the archetypal structure of the dying process. The approach utilizes diagnostic and prescriptive ritual tools and offers healing interventions which can be adapted to each client’s unique spiritual values.
The material in Crossing The Veil is at the core of how I support the people I work with. It helps them understand death and loss in a whole new way, and gives them tools to meet mortality with more grace and confidence.
My hope is that it will do the same for you, your loved ones, and your clients.
